Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial processes across the organization. Your expertise will help drive financial integrity, support strategic decision-making, and uphold transparency in all accounting activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision, analytical skills, and proactive problem-solving are highly valued.

Duties

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
Perform detailed account reconciliations for general ledger accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday; ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
Execute journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and month-end closing activities with accuracy and efficiency.
Support payroll management using systems like ADP or UltiPro; handle payroll data entry while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Conduct internal audits related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation.
Assist with budgeting, financial data analysis through Excel data analysis tools, and forecasting activities to support organizational planning.
Maintain meticulous records of financial transactions while ensuring compliance with governmental accounting standards for non-profit or public sector entities when applicable.
Handle tax-related tasks such as preparation of tax filings or supporting documentation based on tax experience requirements.
Utilize various accounting systems like PeopleSoft or Ceridian to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management.
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, ADP, Kronos or similar platforms; familiarity with financial software integration is a plus.
Solid knowledge of GAAP standards along with governmental or non-profit accounting practices if applicable.
Experience with technical accounting procedures including SOX compliance and complex account reconciliation tasks.
Strong analytical skills demonstrated through Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management; ability to interpret financial data accurately.
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for precise data entry and bookkeeping tasks.
Effective communication skills for customer service-oriented interactions with internal teams or external auditors.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high levels of integrity and professionalism.
Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
