AV Veterinary Center is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or highly skilled Level 3 Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
This is not a kennel position, and it's not a role where you'll spend your day holding patients and cleaning cages. We're looking for a technician who enjoys utilizing their skills, taking initiative, and being an integral part of patient care.
Our hospital provides Primary Care, Urgent Care, Emergency Stabilization, Surgery, Dentistry, Rehabilitation, and Advanced Diagnostics. No two days are the same, and you'll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of cases while continuing to grow your knowledge and skills.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting veterinarians with appointments, treatments, and procedures
- Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Surgical preparation, induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Dental procedures and dental radiography
- Laboratory sample collection and processing
- Hospitalized patient treatments and nursing care
- Emergency triage and patient stabilization
- Client communication and education
- Medical record documentation
- Collaborating with a supportive and fast-paced team

QualificationsRegistered Veterinary Technicians (RVT)
- Current California RVT license in good standing
Veterinary Assistants
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary clinical experience preferred
- Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, patient care, and surgical support
- Cornerstone experience is a plus
- Must possess a valid California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or be eligible and willing to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and able to meet California eligibility requirements, including completion of the required background check

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Experience: Veterinary clinical experience required
Schedule: 10-hour shifts, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
