Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service in a fast-paced environment. This role involves managing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, supervising staff, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows to provide outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

Cook food up to company standards.
Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, sous chefs, and other culinary team members, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety.
Oversee menu planning, food production, and presentation to meet restaurant or catering specifications.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
Supervise food service activities in various settings such as fine dining, catering events, banquets, and hospitality functions.
Train staff on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
Oversee dietary department requirements when applicable, ensuring menu offerings meet dietary restrictions and preferences.
Maintain excellent communication with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of ingredients and equipment.
Monitor kitchen productivity and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.

Experience

Proven experience in culinary arts, with a strong background in restaurant management, food production, or catering.
Demonstrated supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
Extensive fine dining experience preferred, with knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and food safety.
Experience in inventory management, cost control, and food handling.
Background in banquet experience, hospitality, or the food industry is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Knowledge of food service management, shift management, and kitchen operations.
