Full Job Description

Job Summary

Under general direction, monitor and respond to complex technological control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provide primary interface with vendor support service groups or provide internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. May provide LAN server support. Require extensive knowledge of PC/LAN communications hardware and software in a multi-protocol environment, and network management software. The role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware, software, and system issues while ensuring minimal disruption to business and manufacturing operations.

Responsibility

Provide Tier 2 technical support for manufacturing, business, and enterprise systems, including end-user computing devices, applications, network infrastructure, and production-related technologies.
Procure hardware, software, and IT services in accordance with corporate standards, approved budgets, and established IT purchasing procedures.
Identify systems that require attention for security reasons and implement best practices. Review security of systems on a regular basis.
Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets assigned through the Service Desk within established service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring minimal disruption to business and manufacturing operations.
Inform local IT Network Administrator of any issue that requires their involvement such as non-standards purchase and new enterprise system requests.
Troubleshoot and support plant-floor technologies, including manufacturing execution systems (MES), industrial workstations, barcode scanners, label printers, shop-floor devices, and other operational technology (OT) systems as assigned.
Research new concepts as required to develop innovative solutions to business problems. Use complementary resources when possible.
Attend meetings with project managers and department heads to collect information to clarify project specifications, make recommendations and reach agreement in defining system needs.
Support TISAX audit activities, including evidence gathering, control validation, remediation tracking, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with information security requirements.
Oversee document and data control. Update documents, including but not limited to: Flow Diagrams, , LPAs, , Procedures, Work Instruction, Visual Standards, and Forms.
Other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

Comp TIA Network + or A+ preferred.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate preferred.
Degree or diploma in Computer Science from a recognized university or college is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience

Communicate technical issues and solutions effectively with users, colleagues, vendors, and management. Provide user guidance and technical training as required.
Prepare, monitor and adjust work schedules and analyze data on user support services provided.
Evaluate information technology needs and users' software needs. Review experience with a number of relevant software applications and make recommendations.
Perform majority of tasks independently and coordinate efforts with supervisors and co-workers to complete challenging repairs, assess the performance of work units and exchange information about new hardware and software.
ITIL and ITSM knowledge is preferred.

Experience with the following is required:

Windows Server and Desktop administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Security management, and Hyper-V virtualization.
Current version of Microsoft Office.
Current version of Desktop and Notebook hardware (preferably Dell).
Current version of Networking basics.
Anti-Virus Administration.
SAN/NAS Administration.
Microsoft 365 Administration
Excellent break/fix troubleshooting skills.
Possess drive and motivation to continuously learn new and update technical knowledge. Learn by reading solution logs, help files, manuals, newsletters and trade publications, and through trial and error. Discuss computer malfunctions with co-workers and software suppliers.

Working Conditions

PPE to be worn as needed includes steel toe shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses with side shields.
The employee will be occasionally exposed to outside temperatures. Occasional exposure to a hot environment (up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit).
The employee may push, pull, lift, carry and/or move items up to 20 pounds without accommodation, 60 pounds with accommodation.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to perform fine motor skills, often repetitively (e.g., manipulate keys on a keyboard).
Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb (e.g., ladder, stairs), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Able to work in confined or tight spaces (e.g., install wiring in ceiling or under a desk).
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
This position may require up to 10% travel.
Able to work overtime and weekends, if required.
Available after regular hours to participate in an “on-call” rotation.

Facility Specific

Work in compliance with OSHA, EPA and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Follow Company safety rules.
Report the absence of or defect in any PPE to Supervisor or Manager immediately.
Use or wear the PPE required: safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, follow dress code policy regarding jewelry and hair containment.
Follow all health and safety policies and procedures including lockout and machine guarding.
Follow environmental policies and procedures.
Report incidents immediately to Supervisor or EHS representative.
Report to Supervisor or Manager any deviation from company EHS guidelines or company policy.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location including but not limited to:
ISO 45001: Health and Safety management system standard.
ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard.
IATF 16949 Technical Specification Management and Linamar Quality Basics system standards.
Ensure compliance with Linamar’s internal operating system known as ‘GOS’: The Global Operating System.
Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
Maintain department 5S requirements.
