JOB OVERVIEW
Omega Hardwoods is seeking a Business Development Manager to help grow our customer base, strengthen existing accounts, and improve our overall market presence.
This is a hands-on position with direct access to company leadership and plant operations. The right person will be comfortable building relationships, pursuing opportunities through completion, maintaining customer accounts, and helping a growing manufacturing company improve its sales and marketing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new business with companies that may need pallets, recycled pallets, heat-treated products, specialty packaging, cutstock, or related wood products.
- Build relationships with purchasing, operations, supply-chain, and plant-level decision-makers.
- Learn each customer’s product requirements, purchasing volume, delivery expectations, and supplier concerns.
- Qualify opportunities based on customer fit, profitability, production capabilities, location, and transportation requirements.
- Coordinate customer meetings, facility visits, quotes, samples, trial orders, and follow-up activities.
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers and identify opportunities to grow those accounts.
- Work with company leadership and plant management to resolve customer concerns and support successful new-account launches.
- Maintain an organized customer and prospect list containing notes, follow-up dates, forecasts, quotes, and next steps.
- Provide clear updates regarding sales opportunities, account risks, customer needs, and results.
MARKETING AND ONLINE PRESENCE
This position will also help manage how Omega Hardwoods is represented online.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining the company website.
- Managing Omega Hardwoods’ Facebook business page.
- Developing and maintaining Omega Hardwoods’ Indeed company page.
- Keeping company information, photographs, capabilities, and branding current and professional.
- Creating appropriate company posts and updates.
- Helping develop sales materials, presentations, and customer communications.
- Coordinating with outside website or marketing providers when specialized support is needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in business development, outside sales, account management, manufacturing, packaging, lumber, logistics, supply chain, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organization, writing, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to develop new customer relationships and maintain existing accounts.
- Confidence communicating with purchasing managers, operations leaders, plant managers, and executives.
- Ability to understand customer specifications and basic manufacturing requirements.
- Experience working with websites, Facebook business pages, Indeed company pages, or similar online platforms.
- Basic experience with email, spreadsheets, and customer-tracking tools.
- Willingness to travel regionally and visit customer or manufacturing facilities.
Direct pallet or lumber industry experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to consider a strong candidate who is interested in learning our products, operations, and industry.

This position will include office work, telephone and email communication, customer meetings, regional travel, website and social-media activity, and time spent learning Omega Hardwoods’ manufacturing operations.
Applicants should be comfortable visiting manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, food-production facilities, and other industrial workplaces.
