Part-Time Pet Sitter & Dog Walker – Flexible Schedule
Woofie’s of Lutz | North Tampa
Do you love animals, enjoy staying active, and want part-time work that makes a meaningful difference? Woofie’s of Lutz is looking for dependable, caring people to provide professional dog walking and in-home pet care throughout North Tampa.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently but also values the training and support of a local team. Every pet we care for is someone's best friend so we expect you to love every pet like your own.
Why Join the Woofie’s Pack?
- Flexible scheduling: Provide the days and times you can consistently work, and we schedule appointments within your availability.
- Paid training: Learn our safety procedures, care standards, mobile app, and client-service expectations.
- Part-time employee position: Join a professional local team rather than working alone as an independent contractor.
- Per-visit earnings plus tips: Receive compensation for completed appointments, with 100% of client tips going directly to you.
- Meaningful relationships: Get to know the pets in your care and become someone their families trust.
- Independent work with local support: Complete most visits on your own while having administrative and team support available when needed.
- Variety: Work with dogs, cats, and other household pets with different personalities, needs, and routines.
- Team perks: Enjoy employee discounts and other benefits available to members of the Woofie’s Pack.
What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on the client and type of appointment, your responsibilities may include:
- Completing scheduled dog walks and pet-sitting visits in clients’ homes.
- Providing food, fresh water, treats, medications, playtime, companionship, and potty breaks.
- Cleaning litter boxes and handling ordinary pet-related messes or accidents.
- Following detailed care and household instructions accurately.
- Keeping pets secure during walks, backyard breaks, and entry into or exit from the home.
- Monitoring pets for changes in appetite, behavior, mobility, or overall condition.
- Promptly communicating concerns or unexpected situations to our team.
- Sending friendly visit reports and clear photos to pet parents through our mobile app.
- Recording arrival and departure using our GPS-enabled scheduling system.
- Treating every client’s home, belongings, privacy, and security with respect.
- Driving between appointments throughout our North Tampa service area.
Who Does Well in This Position?
Loving animals is important, but professional pet care also requires consistency, patience, and accountability. Pets cannot be left waiting because the weather is unpleasant, plans change, or the workday becomes inconvenient.
Our strongest team members:
- Arrive when expected and follow through on their commitments.
- Communicate promptly, clearly, and professionally.
- Read instructions carefully and do not skip important steps.
- Remain calm when a pet is nervous, excited, stubborn, shy, or behaving unexpectedly.
- Notice small details and report anything unusual.
- Are comfortable entering and working independently inside clients’ homes.
- Can safely handle dogs with different breeds, sizes, personalities, and strength levels.
- Are patient with puppies, senior pets, energetic animals, and pets requiring extra care.
- Are willing to work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, and light rain.
- Can take engaging pet photos and write thoughtful updates for clients.
- Want to become a dependable, long-term member of the team.
Understanding the Schedule
This is a flexible, part-time position, but it requires dependable availability.
Pet-care appointments occur throughout the day, including early mornings, midday hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Your schedule may consist of several individual appointments with driving time between client homes rather than one continuous shift at a single workplace.
You tell us when you can reliably work. Once visits are placed on your accepted schedule, our clients, their pets, and the rest of the team are counting on you to complete them.
Regular availability during one or more of our busiest periods—mornings, midday, evenings, weekends, or holidays—is strongly preferred.
Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable personal vehicle and current automobile insurance.
- Smartphone with dependable cellular service.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, and occasionally assist or lift a pet.
- Comfort working outdoors and handling normal pet-related cleanup.
- Willingness to travel throughout Lutz, Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Carrollwood, Land O’ Lakes, and nearby communities.
- Consistent availability that can be maintained from week to week.
- Ability to work independently while following company procedures and client instructions.
Professional experience with animals is welcome, but it is not required. We are especially interested in applicants who demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a sincere commitment to excellent care.
More Than “Playing with Pets”
This position can be fun and incredibly rewarding, but it also carries real responsibility. Our clients are trusting us with their pets, their homes, and their peace of mind. We are looking for people who take that trust seriously and feel proud to be someone others can depend on.
If you enjoy animals, want flexible and active part-time work, and are ready to provide thoughtful, professional care, we would love to hear from you.
