Full Job Description

Hybrid Manhattan NY

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Raw Materials Generalist to join the Raw Materials team for a leading womens retailer. This role requires a strong generalist who can adapt to the needs of the assigned category team. As an individual contributor, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of fabrics, colors, and trims from development through production, supporting product excellence across all brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the development and execution of apparel raw materials, including knits, wovens, and sweaters.
Ensure quality of fabrics, garments, and components to deliver final product standards.
Support technical development, pre-production, and cataloguing of all fabrics and colors through to production.
Conduct regular store visits to evaluate fabric and color consistency under in-store lighting conditions.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners including design, technical design, and production teams.
Oversee daily communications, coordination, and follow-up across multiple stakeholders.
Maintain raw material libraries (physical and digital) and manage data through PLM systems.
Provide guidance to Assistant Textile Technologists as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Technical Education, or related field; or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in fabric and color development within apparel or related industries.
Strong knowledge of apparel raw materials (knits, wovens, sweaters).
Proficiency with PLM systems and digital record keeping.
Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage physical fabric libraries and digital archives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.

About the Team:
The Raw Materials team is responsible for the development of fabric and trim across all brands. This role supports upcoming projects and ensures consistency in quality and innovation throughout the development process.
