Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Cook / Sandwich Maker, where your enthusiasm for food and dedication to quality will shine! In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, preparing fresh ingredients, assembling delicious sandwiches, and ensuring every meal meets our high standards of safety and flavor. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while contributing to a vibrant food service experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including slicing, dicing, and portioning fresh produce and meats
Assemble sandwiches and other menu items efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all ingredients and equipment
Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, grills, and refrigeration units safely and effectively
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and appliances by adhering to cleaning schedules and safety standards
Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Assist in menu planning by providing feedback on ingredient availability and preparation techniques

Qualifications

Prior experience in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering experience preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
Skilled in knife techniques, slicing methods, and general food preparation tasks
Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with safety standards in production environments and adherence to hygiene protocols
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff
Experience with meal preparation, recipe adherence, and catering is a plus
