About Us
1P Kids Succeed is a youth wellbeing coalition working across Payette County to prevent early substance use and help kids grow up in a community that actively supports them. In our first year alone, we reached over 1,400 people through direct outreach, presentations, and community events, distributed nearly 300 prevention materials and conversation kits, and grew a coalition that's bringing together parents, schools, law enforcement, and local organizations around a shared goal: healthier, more connected kids.
We're a small, close-knit team doing big things, and we're looking for our next operations rockstar — someone who loves systems, communication, and community, and wants their work to actually mean something.
The Role
This role provides the administrative, outreach, communication, and documentation backbone of the coalition. This person keeps meetings running, records organized, communications going out, and events prepared — so coalition leadership and volunteers can stay focused on prevention work. It's a role with real ownership, room to grow, and the chance to shape how the coalition operates as it scales.
What You'll Do
Meetings & Records
- Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, and reminders; take and distribute meeting minutes
- Maintain the coalition's calendar, along with records, rosters, and shared files
- Organize and maintain the coalition's Google Drive
- Track coalition outputs, survey results, activities, and reporting documentation
Content, Social Media & Website
- Follow the coalition's brand guidelines (voice, visual identity, logo usage, and messaging standards) across all content
- Create and post content promoting the coalition's monthly meetings, special meetings, and community event presence (1–3 posts per event)
- Support 4 periodic campaigns each year — Free Fishing Day, Drug Take Back Day, Parent Conversation Kit, and the Annual Community Survey — including flyer design, 4–8 social posts per campaign, Facebook event creation, sponsor recognition, and adding content to the newsletter and website
- Write and design the monthly coalition newsletter, plus occasional supplemental newsletters as needed
- Update the coalition's Wix website at least monthly — new content, event/campaign updates, and routine edits
- Track email newsletter and social media stats monthly (follower growth, reach, engagement) and use the data to help shape content strategy
Events & Community
- Help plan and prepare for community events (extra hours available for in-person event support)
- Register the coalition for events and make sure event outcomes are clearly documented afterward
- Keep coalition materials organized in the Payette shed, keep literature/handouts stocked, and make sure the event booth is always ready to go
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers, communicating via email, phone, and text message as needed
- Recruit community participants for coalition-run programs
- Help build connections with community partners like schools and law enforcement
Coordination
- Manage the coalition's email inbox
- Help set up appointments for the Coalition Coordinator
Process & Growth
- Take feedback well and use it to improve your work
- Help document coalition processes, and turn them into standard operating procedure (SOP) documents so future volunteers or interns can take on parts of this work
- Other duties as able — this role has real room to grow, with the potential to take on additional responsibilities from the Coalition Coordinator over time
Our AI Policy
We use AI tools to help with tasks like writing support — but we are the brains behind the work, not the AI. We do not use AI-generated images. Real graphic design skill (Canva) is genuinely important to us for this role.
What You Need
- Strong attention to detail — no typos. Our communications go out to the whole community, so careful proofreading matters.
- Social media management experience is a big part of this role. We need someone genuinely comfortable running Facebook and Instagram pages day to day, not just posting occasionally.
- Self-driven and comfortable working independently
- Strong writing skills — able to turn public health topics into plain-language, community-friendly content
- Confident writing marketing copy
- Real graphic design experience in Canva (again — no AI-generated images)
- Experience with Facebook Meta Suite and managing Facebook/Instagram pages
- Experience with content calendars, scheduling tools, and basic analytics/reporting
- Comfortable communicating with volunteers and partners by email, phone, and text message
- Comfortable managing a shared email inbox
- Comfortable with Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail — these are our everyday systems
- Ability to follow directions closely and carefully
- Knowledge of the Payette County area (school districts, community landmarks, local organizations) a plus
Preferred, not required:
- Familiarity with community mental health, youth substance use prevention, or nonprofit coalition work
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (event materials, booth supplies)
- Ability to pass an Idaho state background check
- Ability to complete a 9-hour Provisional Professional Specialist certification (online, self-paced, no test)
- Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply ($2/hour differential)
Could Be a Great Fit If You're...
- A paraprofessional, teacher, or substitute teacher already working with kids
- A stay-at-home parent looking for flexible, meaningful part-time work
- Anyone with some relevant experience who's organized, self-motivated, and ready to grow into a role
How to Apply
We know a great candidate doesn't always have a polished resume — that's okay. Please send us:
- A resume, or a simple list of relevant experience
- One example of your graphic design work (a Canva piece, flyer, social post — anything that shows your style)
- A short note on why you want this role
- Your current work availability (days/hours) and when you could start
Following directions matters a lot in this role — so as part of your application, please put the word "sunflower" somewhere in your email subject line. Applications without it will still be reviewed, but this helps us see who reads carefully.
