Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will operate various types of heavy machinery, including trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators, to support roadwork and utility projects. The ideal candidate brings experience, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to safety standards on all job sites.

Duties

Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and related machinery.
Perform work related to roadwork, grading, trenching, sewer, water, and storm drain installations.
Conduct pre-operation equipment inspections to ensure machinery is safe and functional.
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grading requirements to complete tasks accurately.
Coordinate with supervisors, foremen, and team members to meet project deadlines and expectations.
Perform basic equipment maintenance, including routine troubleshooting and minor repairs.
Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and OSHA regulations on job sites.
Maintain a clean, organized job site and ensure proper storage of equipment after use.
Communicate equipment issues and project updates promptly to supervisors.

Qualifications

3+ years of proven experience operating heavy equipment, including trackhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators.
Ability to read and interpret technical plans, blueprints, and construction documents.
Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and the ability to work safely at all times.
Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in various weather conditions and rugged terrain.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus).
Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with roadwork, trenching, utility installations, and storm drain projects.
OSHA certification or other relevant safety training certifications.
High school diploma or equivalent.
