Business Development Manager – Expo Partnerships

Full job description

GulfSouth Outdoor Living brings the showroom to the customer. We sell hot tubs, swim spas, saunas, and cold plunges through a traveling showroom that sets up at expos and events all across the Southeast. For us, the expo floor is the storefront — so the partnerships that get us into the right expos, in the right spots, at the right cost are the foundation of the whole business.

We're hiring a Business Development Manager to own that channel. You'll find and lock in the best expos across our ten-state territory, negotiate space and sponsorships with event organizers, and build the relationships that keep us coming back to the highest-performing shows season after season. If you love the deal, live on the road, and want a role where your work directly drives the sales floor, this is it.

Responsibilities

Research and identify the highest-value expos, fairs, and outdoor/wellness events across the Southeast (AL, GA, FL, TN, MS, KY, NC, SC, LA, AR).
Build and manage a full event calendar — deciding which expos to book, when, and where the traveling showroom goes next.
Negotiate space, placement, sponsorships, and exhibitor contracts with event organizers to get the best location and the best rate.
Build lasting relationships with expo organizers and promoters to secure repeat placement, preferred spots, and better terms year over year.
Track the numbers on every show — cost of the event, foot traffic, leads captured, units sold, and ROI — and double down on what works.
Coordinate the logistics of getting the showroom, staff, and inventory to each event.
Scout new event markets and partnership opportunities (dealer tie-ins, cross-promotions, wellness and outdoor-living partners) to expand our reach.
Work with the sales and operations teams so each booked event is staffed, stocked, and set up to sell.
Report on event and territory performance and refine the show mix each season.

Qualifications

3+ years of business development, sales, or partnerships experience (a track record with expos or events is a big plus).
Proven ability to negotiate and close — event contracts, sponsorships, and partnership terms.
Willing and able to travel heavily across the Southeast, including weekends when shows run.
Strong relationship-builder who can become a known, trusted name with event organizers.
Organized and self-directed — able to run an event calendar, budgets, and travel logistics with minimal oversight.
Comfortable tracking cost-per-event and ROI and proving which events are worth repeating.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Experience in hot tubs, spas, saunas, wellness, pools, or outdoor living / home improvement is a plus.
Valid driver's license.
