Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Case Manager facilitates successful community reintegration for defendants involved in the criminal legal system, with primary focus on individuals facing felony charges and those transitioning from incarceration. This role combines direct client engagement with intensive coordination across justice system stakeholders, treatment providers, and community resources.

Responsibilities

Develop individualized service plans targeting behavioral health needs, housing stability, substance use recovery, and life maintenance skills.
Continuously monitor client progress and adapt interventions based on changing risk factors and compliance status.

Court & Justice System Coordination

Provide neutral, third-party case information to judges, court staff, and attorneys regarding client engagement and progress.
Attend court hearings and present structured reports on treatment compliance and service participation.
Coordinate placement into specialty courts, substance abuse treatment, mental health programs, and other services as ordered.

Intensive Case Management

Maintain regular contact with assigned defendants through in-person visits, telephone check-ins, and electronic monitoring verification.
Conduct home visits and field contacts to verify residence, assess living conditions, and reinforce court conditions.
Conduct visits to inpatient rehabilitation program and other treatment providers.

Resource Coordination

Establish and maintain referral networks with transitional housing providers, halfway houses, employment services, and community-based treatment organizations.
Collaborate closely with Transitional Coordinators, Probation-Parole Officers, and community treatment providers to ensure seamless service delivery.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate, complete case files documenting all client contacts, service referrals, and court communications.
Perform background checks and verify criminal history information across multiple data systems.
Prepare legal documents, progress reports, and violation notifications for court review.
Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing community supervision.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related field.
Demonstrate ability to work effectively with individuals presenting chronic mental illness, substance use disorders, housing instability, and extensive criminal histories including violent offenses.
Strong interviewing, investigative, and de-escalation skills for emotionally charged situations.
Proficiency with case management information systems, electronic document management, and Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout assigned region for field contacts and court appearances.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous courtroom experience or legal office experience.
Experience interacting professionally with Judges, attorneys, law enforcement and the public.
Knowledge of courtroom procedures, legal terminology, and court documentation.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
ARAS certified.

Pay: $34,000.00 - $37,500.00 per year
