Full Job Description

THE POSITION

Do you have a clerical background and have a passion for working in an environment that serves to help others? Washington County Children and Youth Services is seeking a professional individual to fill this integral role. The Administrative Assistant 1 offers a chance to help a team that protects local families. This confidential role gives you a front-row seat to how the agency serves the community and is a great fit for someone who is organized and can ensure the smooth operation of a busy office.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Administrative Assistant 1 helps the Washington County Children and Youth Services office operate in a steady and organized way. This role supports agency leadership and handles key daily tasks. As an Administrative Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

Administrative Support: Provide confidential secretarial help to the CYS Administrator
Communication Handling: Answer, screen, and route calls in a clear and helpful manner
Record Maintenance: Maintain personnel files and update spreadsheets for clearances and agency equipment
Travel Coordination: Arrange travel plans and track related details
Office Equipment Use: Operate fax machines, copiers, scanners, printers, and telephones
Data Work: Research information and analyze data as needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation.
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
