Culinary/Pastry Chef Instructor – Restaurant Operations (Philadelphia)

Walnut Hill College, founded as The Restaurant School in 1974, prepares students for careers in the field of upscale hospitality including culinary arts, pastry arts, hospitality, restaurant, and hotel management. For nearly 50 years, Walnut Hill College has remained dedicated to providing a distinct educational experience that inspires students towards Professionalism, Citizenship, and Lifelong Learning for success in their chosen Career Field.

The college is currently accepting applications for qualified full-time or part-time culinary and pastry chef instructor(s) capable of teaching students in the college’s teaching kitchens and operational kitchens that serve its four open-to-the-public restaurants, pastry shop, and student dining services. The demanding position requires an experienced chef who recognizes the importance of timely service in a safe and sanitary environment who can simultaneously instruct students in kitchen operations. Excellent cooking, organizational, managerial and instructional skills are a must for this important role in developing the future of the hospitality industry.

Successful faculty members at Walnut Hill College embody the spirit of hospitality, and, and seek to inspire our students. Prior teaching experience in higher education is preferred. 10+ years of industry experience or as an instructor of culinary arts at an accredited institution is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate will also:

§ Be extremely passionate about gastronomy and hospitality.

§ Be ready to embrace the classic, as well as contemporary, modern style of cooking and hospitality.

§ Have the knowledge and skills required to teach our students.

§ Hold at least an earned Bachelor’s Degree in the area of study.
