Full Job Description

About the Opportunity

A growing law firm is seeking two Associate Attorneys—one junior-level and one senior-level—to join its Commercial Litigation Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney currently in solo practice or someone seeking a more hands-on, entrepreneurial environment with greater responsibility and direct client interaction.

The firm focuses primarily on commercial litigation and consumer protection matters, including contract disputes, escrow disputes, landlord-tenant matters, foreclosure defense, credit card and garnishment defense, debt settlement, and solar panel cancellation matters.

The ideal attorney will have strong analytical skills, sound judgment, excellent legal writing abilities, and the ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.

The position may become fully remote after onboarding. Initial onboarding will be conducted in person at the firm's Coral Gables, FL office.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present motions and appear at motion calendars.
Draft summary judgment motions and proposed final judgments.
Review files for judgment readiness.
Appear at hearings across multiple Florida circuits, both in person and remotely where permitted.
Handle post-judgment matters, including objections to sale and motions to cancel or reschedule sales.
Thoroughly prepare for hearings by reviewing case files, court requirements, and opposing filings.
Coordinate with paralegals and staff regarding scheduling, notices, and pre-hearing logistics.
Document and communicate hearing outcomes to clients and internal teams.
Attend mediations and take and defend depositions.
Communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel to pursue favorable resolutions.
Respond to and argue motions to dismiss filed by borrowers or pro se defendants.
Manage and supervise a heavy and diverse caseload of Florida clients.
Communicate directly with clients regarding their legal matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and agreements.
Communicate with opposing parties to negotiate and resolve claims.
Conduct legal research involving contract law, consumer protection, and related areas.
Work independently while collaborating with paralegals, staff, and other professionals.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong initiative, adaptability, and the ability to work independently. The attorney should be comfortable taking ownership of matters, managing a heavy workload, and handling a broad range of commercial and consumer litigation issues.

Experience drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and other legal documents is highly valued.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active Florida Bar license.
Minimum 4 years of experience practicing law in a Florida law firm.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience with litigation, hearings, motions, and client representation.
Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload.
