About Us

Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Department Information

The Department of Natural Sciences serves a student body ranging from science majors to students taking science courses for their core curriculum. We offer the Bachelor of Science in Biology degree. The B.S. in Biology degree is a broad undergraduate degree which prepares students for the modern workplace, graduate school or pre-professional schools (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy).

Job Summary

Middle Georgia State University is seeking a candidate for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology for the School of Health and Natural Sciences in the Department of Natural Sciences. This position involves teaching, scholarship and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower level and/ or upper-level biology courses. Travel from Warner Robins campus to a satellite campus will be required.

Responsibilities

This position involves teaching undergraduate courses and scholarship. All faculty are expected to assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and serving on departmental and university committees. Travel among our campuses will be required as needed. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online and/or hybrid courses.

Required Qualifications

Required Educational Qualifications

PhD degree in Biology or related field with special attention given to the following area of expertise: anatomy and physiology.

Prior successful teaching experience
Experience or interest in supervising undergraduate research
