Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic property management team as a Property Management Bookkeeper, where your expertise will ensure our financial operations run smoothly and accurately. In this vital role, you will manage the financial records for multiple properties, oversee accounting processes, and support the overall financial health of our organization. Your attention to detail and proficiency with accounting software will help us maintain transparency, compliance, and efficiency in our property operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your bookkeeping skills within a vibrant, fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all managed properties using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions promptly, ensuring timely payments and collections
Reconcile bank statements and perform general ledger reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data
Prepare journal entries, ledger adjustments, and account analysis in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and organizational standards
Manage payroll processing for property staff and contractors, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
Generate detailed financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for internal review and external reporting
Conduct regular account reconciliation procedures such as bank reconciliation, accounts receivable aging analysis, and accounts payable review to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently

Requirements

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting within property management, corporate accounting, or non-profit accounting environments
Strong proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
Extensive knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting practices
Familiarity with financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting, and financial report writing
Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently using spreadsheets or dedicated accounting systems
Experience in payroll processing and managing accounts payable/receivable workflows
Understanding of GAAP standards and accounting regulations applicable to property management or corporate finance
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
