Full Job Description

We are an expanding surgical, medical, and cosmetic dermatology practice seeking a certified medical assistant (or someone willing to become a Certified Dermatology Technician) with dermatology experience to join our awesome team!

Scrub Reimbursement

Our team of Medical Assistants ensure patients receive quality health care services by providing clinical support to our Dermatologists. The Medical Assistant will room patients, update medical records, take medical histories, prepare our patients for examinations or procedures, assist during diagnostic procedures, and overall provide support as directed.

Essential Functions:

· Greet and communicate with patients and their guests in a caring and respectful manner.

· Communicate, collaborate, and anticipate the needs of their team members to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.

· Obtain and document medical history.

· Accurately scribe and chart in EMR on behalf of the provider.

· Assist during the exam and during diagnostic procedures.

· Efficiently collect and prepare lab specimens.

· Provide patient education regarding results and treatment plans.

· Monitor medical supplies and communicate when supplies are low.

· Maintain clinical exam rooms and set-up for procedures.

· Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to treatment.

· Effectively answers phones and ensure accurate documentation as needed.

· Send prescriptions to patient pharmacy.

Skills and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Current Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) or willing to become a Certified Dermatology Technician within first 90 days.
1 year of relevant experience working in a dermatology practice highly preferred
BLS and CPR certifications preferred.
Proficiency in medical terminology and patient care techniques
Experience using Electronic Medical Records preferred.
Ability to accurately scribe for the provider with strong attention to detail required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work as a team player.
Demonstrates a passion for excellent customer service and delivering quality care.
