Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Title Examiner to provide high-quality title examination services while supporting our commitment to excellence, client success, and continuous improvement. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the title process and serves as a foundational part of every transaction. The ideal candidate will have strong title examination expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset.

Position Summary

The Examiner is responsible for conducting professional title examinations on designated files, ensuring accurate title work, timely delivery, and compliance with underwriting and company standards. This position works closely with Escrow Officers, underwriters, and business development team members to support successful real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform thorough title examinations for assigned files, prioritizing quality and accuracy while maintaining efficient turnaround times.
Follow established title examination processes, checklists, and quality standards.
Review and analyze title records, legal documents, and property histories to identify potential issues affecting title insurability.
Stay current on underwriting guidelines and coordinate with underwriters and title leadership when guidance is needed.
Obtain and review title evidence for out-of-county transactions as necessary.
Respond to preliminary title-related inquiries and collaborate with escrow and business development teams to support client needs.
Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and select clients through responsive, professional communication.
Participate in initiatives that support company values and community engagement efforts.

Qualifications Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in title examination.
Strong knowledge of title research, title commitments, curative requirements, and real property records.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Preferred

Title examination experience in Central Texas.
Experience with SoftPro, DataTrace, and/or Title Data systems.
Undergraduate degree.
Certified Abstractor and Escrow Agent (CAEA) designation or similar industry certifications.
