Job Overview

We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress & Alterations Specialist to join our growing team at our new studio!

The ideal candidate will have a passion for garment construction, sewing, and providing excellent customer service, as well as the ambition and drive to create a real career in the ever-evolving field of fashion and styling; someone who wants to grow with us as we expand and scale this three year old business!

This role involves customizing and repairing clothing to meet our clientele’s wants and needs, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and timely service. The specialists will play a vital role in enhancing our customers' experience by delivering fabulous tailored garments with precision and care.

Responsibilities

Alter, repair, and customize garments according to customer requests and specifications
Operate sewing machines efficiently and safely to produce high-quality finished products
Measure clients accurately to ensure proper fit and garment adjustments
Assist customers with fitting sessions and provide expert advice on garment alterations
Maintain organized workstations and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ensure all sewing and tailoring work adheres to quality standards and deadlines
Keep detailed records of alterations performed for each customer

Skills

Proven experience in garment construction, sewing, and tailoring techniques
Proficiency in operating sewing machines and other industry tools
Strong passion for fashion trends and understanding of customer preferences
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Basic math skills for taking measurements, calculating fabric needs, and adjusting patterns
Knowledge of garment fitting, fabric types, and sewing patterns is preferred
Attention to detail, precision, and a keen eye for quality craftsmanship
