Audiology Assistant / Provider Extender – Patient Experience Rockstar

Locations: Phoenix & Surprise, Arizona
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel Required: This position rotates between our Phoenix and Surprise offices (2–3 days per week at each location).

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Audiology Assistant / Provider Extender Rockstar who will serve as the bridge between our providers and patients.

This is a highly visible, patient-facing role responsible for ensuring every patient receives world-class care, communication, and follow-through throughout their hearing healthcare journey.

You will be involved in everything from assisting with diagnostic testing and patient education to coordinating surgeries, tracking imaging, managing treatment plans, and ensuring patients never feel lost in the process.

This position requires common sense, critical thinking, urgency, and ownership.

You will not be successful in this role if you need constant direction, avoid difficult conversations, or believe "that's not my job."

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Support

Assist providers during patient visits and evaluations.
Conduct diagnostic testing in collaboration with Audiologists and Providers.
Prepare patients for testing and treatment appointments.
Educate patients on next steps in their treatment journey.
Ensure patients fully understand recommendations and follow-up requirements.

Patient Experience Management

Guide patients through every stage of care.
Coordinate imaging, referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments.
Track outstanding orders and ensure completion.
Follow up with patients after visits to maintain momentum in their care plan.
Coach patients through hearing treatment, cochlear implant candidacy, surgical processes, and post-treatment expectations.
Eliminate communication gaps and prevent patients from falling through the cracks.

Coordination & Follow-Through

Monitor open tasks and unresolved patient needs.
Coordinate with physicians, audiologists, hearing coaches, surgery schedulers, and external providers.
Manage patient documentation accurately and efficiently.
Ensure all required records and documentation are obtained timely.
Maintain exceptional organization while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Operational Excellence

Support front and back-office operations as needed.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Assist with billing and coding processes when necessary.
Identify workflow improvements and contribute ideas to enhance efficiency.
Step in wherever needed to support the team and patient experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in healthcare, audiology, medical assisting, patient care coordination, or specialty medical practices.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Basic understanding of insurance, referrals, authorizations, or medical coding.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
Ability to move between clinical areas frequently.
Ability to lift and transport supplies as needed.

This is not a desk job.
Expect to be on your feet, moving, assisting patients, coordinating care, and actively managing the flow of the clinic throughout the day.
