STEELPOINT CAPITAL HOLDINGS
Controller
Platform Finance · In Office at Boyce Plaza · Reports to Chief Financial Officer
Is This YOU…
- A multi-entity accountant who actually likes the books — consolidations, intercompany, eliminations, and a trial balance that ties across every entity. You are not looking for someone else to do the detailed work for you.
- An owner of the close — you have run a monthly close start to finish and you close on time. The reconciliations are done, the statements are right, and nobody has to ask where it stands.
- A builder of forecasts, not just a keeper of history — budgets, rolling cash flow, variance analysis with commentary that actually explains the number. You are as comfortable in the forward look as in the rearview.
- A detail-driven operator — you are precise, thorough, and genuinely bothered by errors.
- Energized by variety — close one week, treasury the next, a forecast rebuild the week after. Switching gears does not rattle you. It is why you want this seat instead of a narrow one..
- Ready to build something significant — you are not looking for a defined lane inside a large finance department. You want ownership of the numbers for a platform that is still being built.
About The Role
SteelPoint Capital Holdings is a Pittsburgh-based private investment platform founded by Casey Quinn in 2019. What began as a residential real estate investment operation has grown into a diversified multi-company ecosystem spanning real estate holdings, private investor capital fund management, a national accounting firm, hard money lending, and residential property management.
The platform operates across four entities — SteelPoint Capital, Local First Lending, Accruity, and CityLife Residential — all running on EOS.
Finance sits close to the business here, and it has to keep pace. The books span multiple entities, active intercompany activity, and a portfolio that adds entities as it grows. The CFO owns capital strategy, banking relationships, and the direction of the platform’s finances. What the platform needs is someone who owns the numbers underneath all of it.
That’s where you come in.
The Controller is the CFO’s right hand across accounting, treasury, and financial planning for the entire SteelPoint portfolio. You will own the close and the integrity of the financial statements across every entity. You will manage cash and liquidity. You will build the budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis that the CFO and Casey rely on to run the business. This is a hands-on seat — in the general ledger one day, rebuilding a rolling cash flow model the next.
What You’ll OwnClose, Consolidation, and Financial Statement Integrity
- Own the monthly and year-end close across all entities — reconciliations complete, statements accurate, deadlines met. Every month.
- Run day-to-day accounting operations from general ledger management through intercompany transactions and eliminations.
- Own the integrity of the financial statements. If a number goes to leadership, you stand behind it.
- Maintain the accounting calendar across entities — no scrambles, no surprises, no missed deadlines.
Cash and Treasury
- Own cash positioning and liquidity monitoring across every entity and account in the portfolio.
- Maintain rolling cash flow projections across the platform — and flag pressure before it becomes a problem, not after.
- Support banking relationships and treasury operations alongside the CFO.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis
- Lead the annual budget process across the portfolio companies, working directly with the leaders who own those numbers.
- Own monthly variance analysis with clear, plain-language commentary for leadership review — the story behind the variance, not just the delta.
- Build the forecasts and reporting the CFO and Casey use to make decisions.
- Take on ad hoc analysis and special projects as the CFO’s primary point of execution.
Process, Controls, and Scale
- Build scalable accounting processes and controls that hold up as the portfolio grows and entities get added.
- Coordinate with outside tax preparers and support annual tax filings across entities.
- Own payroll-related accounting and reporting in partnership with HR/People Ops.
- Stand up the accounting infrastructure for newly formed or newly acquired entities from day one.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a Controller or senior accounting management role. You have done this work — not just supervised it.
- Multi-entity fluency — consolidations, intercompany, eliminations. Real estate, lending, or private equity/fund environments are a strong plus.
- Genuinely hands-on with the books — this is not a review-and-approve seat. You are in the detail because you want to be.
- Treasury experience — you have managed cash across multiple entities or accounts, not just reconciled it after the fact.
- Budgeting and forecasting track record — you build them, and you can explain them clearly to people who are not accountants.
- Strong general ledger and accounting systems proficiency. You learn a new system quickly and you make it work harder than the last person did.
- CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred — not required.
- High attention to detail balanced with speed — a lean, high-growth environment needs both. Precision that slows everything down is its own problem.
- Pittsburgh-based — this role is in office at Boyce Plaza in Upper Saint Clair.
Backgrounds that tend to produce the right candidate: public accounting senior or manager making the move in-house, controller or assistant controller at a multi-entity real estate or lending platform, or senior accountant at a private equity-backed portfolio company.
Why Join Us

- Real ownership of the numbers. You are not a piece of the close. You own it.
- A career-accelerating environment. Multi-entity consolidation, fund and lending accounting, real estate, and acquisition integration — inside a platform a Founder built from zero to $100M+ in seven years.
- A platform that keeps adding entities. As the portfolio grows and the finance function formalizes, this role grows with it.
- Pittsburgh’s best-kept secret. A $100M+ platform, a four-company ecosystem, , and a Founder with a clear path to $500M AUM — headquartered in Upper Saint Clair.
