Assistant Head Chef – Camp

Temporary, 6 days per week/10 hours a day
Salary: $800 weekly

Camp Loyaltown is a large residential summer camp for developmentally disabled children and adults. Our Campers range in age from 6 years to 80 plus years old; most of the campers are between 10 years old– and 60 years old.
The Assistant Chef helps prepare meals for large groups, carries out meal‑related tasks assigned by the Executive Chef, maintains a clean and safe kitchen environment, and works alongside and supervises kitchen staff during meal service to ensure efficient meal setup, service, and cleanup.
In this role, you will also:
- Practice and promote the agency’s mission statements in every interaction through family and community engagement: Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
- Follow all regulations, agency policies and procedures, the employee handbook, and all required agency and program trainings.
- Serve as a mandated reporter and contact the Justice Center when there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect, while adhering to all agency incident reporting policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Chef to manage and support kitchen and dining hall staff.
- Lead daily meetings and provide consistent leadership, guidance, and direction to all kitchen and dining hall staff.
- Instruct, train, and oversee kitchen and dining hall staff to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Assume Executive Chef responsibilities on their scheduled day off.
We require:
- Food handling safety certificate (SafeServ)
- Kitchen experience, including prep work and maintenance
- Ethical Practice
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs
