FBFK Law is seeking a polished, highly capable Paralegal/Legal Assistant, preferably with big firm experience, to provide dedicated, full-time support to four litigation attorneys. This is a high-trust role for a professional who thrives on variety, works well under pressure, is extremely well organized, and takes genuine pride in producing flawless, fast, and accurate work products.
Attorney & Client Support
-
Serve as the primary point of support for four attorneys handling both litigation matters, managing a demanding and frequently shifting workload with professionalism, discretion, and grace
-
Interface directly and confidently with courts, exercising sound independent judgment in prioritizing communications and requests
-
Manage and organize the attorney's calendar, deadlines, filings, and meeting logistics, proactively flagging conflicts and time-sensitive matters
-
Anticipate the attorney's needs and adapt quickly to changing priorities, working autonomously with minimal oversight while keeping the attorney informed
Document Preparation & Transcription
-
Transcribe handwritten notes and mark-ups from the attorney and convert them into polished, court- and client-ready legal documents quickly and accurately
-
Draft, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, contracts, corporate documents, and other legal materials consistent with firm style standards
-
Maintain an extremely high level of typing speed and accuracy, with the ability to turn around lengthy or complex documents under tight deadlines
-
Coordinate document execution, filing, and service, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across both litigation and corporate deliverables
Litigation Support
-
Assist with preparation of pleadings, discovery, deposition materials, and trial exhibits
-
Track litigation deadlines, court rules, and filing requirements across state and federal courts
-
Coordinate logistics for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
Workload & Availability
-
Manage a workload that fluctuates between periods of intense, deadline-driven activity — which may require limited overtime — and quieter, more predictable stretches, adjusting pace and availability accordingly
-
Recognize when a matter requires immediate turnaround versus when it can be queued, and communicate proactively about workload and capacity
This role calls for a mature, very organized, seasoned professional, preferably with big firm experience, who can anticipate needs and effortlessly deliver under pressure. Success requires the composure to support a demanding, fast-moving practice with diplomacy and finesse, and the experience to know how to prioritize, how to set and manage expectations and how to manage the relationship with clients, the attorney as well as how to leverage other support staff/resources when needed.
-
Work alongside a respected, award-winning attorney with sophisticated, high-caliber practice
