About Safer Path: Established in 1992, Safer Path Family Violence Shelter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Through shelter, advocacy, education, and prevention, Safer Path builds awareness, empowers victims, supports healing, and works toward an abuse‑free community. Revenue generated by Safer Path’s thrift store is a critical component of sustaining these lifesaving services.
Position Summary:
The CPS Liaison & ADVANCE Educator provides specialized, trauma-informed support to non-offending parents involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) due to domestic violence concerns. This position facilitates Safer Path's ADVANCE Program (Acknowledging Domestic Violence and Navigating CPS Effectively) and serves as the primary point of contact for participants throughout the seven-week program.
Working collaboratively with survivors and CPS professionals, the CPS Liaison & ADVANCE Educator promotes safety, increases understanding of domestic violence dynamics, supports survivor autonomy, and helps participants successfully navigate CPS requirements related to domestic violence concerns. Through education, advocacy, communication, and coordination, this position assists families in strengthening safety, stability, and protective parenting practices.
Many ADVANCE participants may not engage in Safer Path's broader advocacy services. As a result, this role serves as a critical support resource during a brief but highly impactful period of a survivor's journey.
This position directly supports Safer Path's mission to build awareness of family violence and sexual assault, empower victims, support survivor healing, and create a safe and abuse-free community.
