Full Job Description

We're Hiring: Certified Pharmacy Technician
Location: Remote (But must live in state listed below)
Schedule: Mon-Fri 10am-7pm CST

Pay: $19-21 hourly (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Prior Authorization (PA) Specialist. In this role, you will be the engine that keeps our coverage approvals moving smoothly. You will use specialized vendor tools to determine patient eligibility, screen required documentation, and manage the end-to-end prior authorization process.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative position where you will work closely with pharmacists, physicians, and insurance portals to ensure patients get the medications they need without unnecessary delays.

Key Responsibilities

PA Processing & Tracking: Utilize vendor tools to determine patient eligibility, screen for required documentation, and create, process, and accurately track pharmacy prior authorization requests.
Clinical Collaboration: Prepare, organize, and distribute PA requests for pharmacist or physician review. Promptly respond to their requests for additional information.
Information Gathering: Collect relevant medical information via telephone, fax, and online portals. Apply the appropriate PA criteria while clearly documenting all communications and decision-making steps.
Timeframe & Escalation Management: Consistently meet required decision-making timeframes, including promptly triggering escalations for complex cases that require immediate pharmacist review.
Outcome Notification: Communicate oral and written prior authorization outcome notifications that strictly comply with standards and requirements for timeliness, content, and accuracy.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Adaptability: Perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy team.

Position Requirements

Experience: 1+ years of professional work experience in a pharmacy-related field.
Licensure: Active, unrestricted National Pharmacy Technician certification and a valid state license.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for positive interpersonal interactions.
Technical & Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, professional phone etiquette, and strong typing skills.

Geographic Requirements

This is a remote position, but candidates must permanently reside in one of the following states to be considered:

Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
