Full Job Description

ECC Corrosion, Inc., a leading composites manufacturer in the corrosion industry, has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Generalist. We are looking for a dynamic person with excellent communication skills to join our team and manage our daily HR matters, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits and compliance. POSITION SUMMARY

Handles daily human resource tasks, helps to manage the employee lifecycle, assists with labor law compliance, and serves as a backup for payroll processing. Recruits and screens candidates for production positions and provides onboarding support for all new employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of this position include the following:

1. Understand and advise managers and employees regarding federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and help ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state and local employment policies, procedures and regulations.

2. Post job openings, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and guide new hires through the hiring and onboarding process.

3. Process employment applications and benefit enrollment applications, and complete new employee documentation and other requirements for withholding, direct deposit and employment authorization.

4. Assist in administering and maintaining Company benefits programs and inform and guide employees on benefits matters regarding eligibility, coverage and other provisions/exclusions.

5. Compile and maintain employee personnel, attendance, worker compensation and benefit files, records and documentation.

6. Provide administrative support and answer questions/provide coaching relating to human resource policies, resolving workplace conflicts, and supporting performance reviews.

7. Verify unemployment insurance claims, correspond with unemployment agencies and refer exceptions to appropriate manager for further action.

8. Assist with the preparation, documentation, processing and distribution of payroll using the Company’s payroll system in accordance with applicable law, collective bargaining arrangements and Company policies.

9. Provide relief for receptionist from time to time for breaks, vacations and other absences.

10. Other duties as assigned from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Education and/or Experience: Requires an associate’s degree and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a human resource generalist. Experience with Sage 100 accounting/payroll processing software a plus. Ability to speak and understand Spanish a plus.

Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field of human resources; able to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work and records; able to perform duties with tact; possess above average communication skills; able to work effectively with both employees and managers; able to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees; able to rely on experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish duties and goals; able to perform a variety of complex tasks; able to create, manipulate and utilize spreadsheets and word processing programs; competency in reading, comprehending and applying policies, procedures and regulations; must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
