Full Job Description

Head Chef (Culinary Project Manager) – $25/hour

Nationwide Travel | 30 Days On / 14 Days Off | 12-Hour Shifts

A.D. Susman & Associates is seeking an experienced Head Chef (Culinary Project Manager) to oversee culinary operations at remote project sites across the United States. This leadership role is responsible for managing culinary projects from start to finish, ensuring operations run efficiently, on schedule, and meet the highest standards of quality and food safety.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading high-volume catering or food service operations, managing kitchen teams, controlling food and labor costs, and delivering exceptional service in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Manage culinary projects from start to finish, ensuring operations run smoothly, efficiently, and on schedule.
Oversee all daily kitchen operations and lead culinary staff.
Develop and execute menus for high-volume meal service.
Manage food inventory, purchasing, and cost controls.
Monitor labor budgets, staffing, and scheduling.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen personnel.
Maintain exceptional food quality while meeting project deadlines and client expectations.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of professional Chef experience.
High-volume catering and food service management experience.
Proven experience with menu development.
Strong knowledge of food cost and labor cost management.
Supervisory and leadership experience managing kitchen teams.
Strong organizational and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Culinary Degree.
Experience working in mobile kitchens or RV kitchen environments.

Position Requirements

Willing to travel nationwide.
Ability to work a 30 days on / 14 days off rotation.
Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Authorized to work in the United States.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
