JOB SUMMARY: ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Operate various types of CNC/manual machinery including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, tapping machines, hand tools and milling machines with minimal supervision.
- Work closely with Machinist II and/or Team Lead to determine adherence of dimensions and tolerances specified on prints, sequence of operations, and machines required by studying specifications, mechanical drawings, sketches, damaged parts, or description of parts.
- Perform and record quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
- Determine appropriate gaging for accuracy level required.
- Possess the aptitude to determine appropriate inspection methods based on print tolerance.
- Understand & adhere to all applicable company safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to operate and set up CNC equipment.
- Possess personal hand tools needed to perform the job.
- Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings.
- Ability to obtain accurate measurements using precise measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, indicators, height, and depth gages.
- Must have basic reading and writing skills.
- Proficient in basic math including the ability to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa.
- Use of trigonometry functions to determine bolt patterns, arc tangents and angles.
- Basic skills including how to print documents.
- Successful completion of 90-day probationary period.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Some functions include: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; talking on phone; climbing up and down stairs; walking shop floor; standing, stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. or less, standing while attending shop machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role primarily operates within a manufacturing facility, with exposure to production floor activities and office environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the non-air conditioned work environment is moderate. Steel toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
