Full Job Description

The Global Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Engineering Systems used in product development; guiding systems deployment programs through the concept, system requirements, design, design verification and deployment phases.

The Global Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Engineering Technical Library which includes processes and workflow used in the product development cycle. These standards include Common Parts Pages, Cascade Process Standards, Cascade Material Standards and Drafting and Procedures. They work with others to develop and publish these documents in accordance with best practices.

The Global Engineering Manager leads a team of engineers and staff to successfully execute project tasks and deliver systems development milestones aligned with key business objectives. This role establishes engineering vision, develops and implements standardized procedures, and drives project performance across teams. A strong focus is placed on systems usability, reliability, quality of data, and continuous improvement throughout the systems development lifecycle.

In addition, the Global Engineering Manager participates in the hiring, training, performance management, and professional development of systems design staff. The role is also responsible for global governance of company policies & standards, setting clear performance expectations, and fostering a high-performing systems engineering organization.

This position serves as a global professional engineer and leader, directly reports to the Vice President of Engineering. The position serves as a coach and mentor to members of the engineering systems team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Provide technical leadership and apply sound engineering principles to develop cost-effective, reliable, and high-quality systems that meet customer requirements and business objectives.

· Plan, organize, and oversee the design, development and deployment of new systems and modifications to existing systems through a team of engineers, staff and vendors.

· Ensure the availability of engineering support for engineering systems.

· Conduct and participate in technical design and project reviews to ensure design integrity, feasibility, and alignment with requirements.

· Collaborate with engineering managers globally to ensure consistent product support and alignment across all major regions.

· Partner with cross-functional leaders in marketing, sales, service, and manufacturing to align system requirements with cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets.

· Provide technical assistance to customers and internal stakeholders regarding system designs and trouble shooting.

· Review, analyze, and document global customer and business requirements, translating them into clear system requirements and functional specifications.

· Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art principles, theories, and practices around engineering related activities.

· Identify, recommend, and implement long-term tools, standards, and methods to drive continuous improvement in the department.

· Manage and develop staff by providing coaching, training and opportunities to build technical and professional skills

· Set clear performance expectations and provide timely, constructive feedback on performance progress and results.

· Monitor work to promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement from the outset of all projects.

· Ensure the team maintains/enhances the technical expertise and capabilities required to support current and future system development initiatives.

· Ensure engineering projects comply with applicable local and international standards, regulatory requirements, and production requirements.

· Investigate and follow-up on design and/or system issues, recommend corrective actions, and oversee implementation to resolution; thereby reducing downtime costs and improving system reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or another related technical or scientific discipline required; a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a master’s degree in a technical field is preferred.

· Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

· Minimum 4 years of experience as a supervisor/people manager or technical lead working on multiple Cascade system development projects.

· Proven record of managing programs with technical, schedule, risk and cost requirements.

· Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and MRP/ERP software systems.

· Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.

· A high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

· Strong written & verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively to promote collaboration among teams.

· Commitment to continuous improvement.

· Capacity to solve problems and make decisions in a rational, logical manner.

· Effective time management skills and adaptability to maintain work output during times of pressure and tight deadlines.

· Exemplary customer service skills, including the ability to deal effectively with internal and external individuals in the execution of assignments.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
