Lumaire | Portland, Maine
Part-Time | Primarily Remote / Telehealth | Approximately 8–12 Hours/Week Initially | Opportunity to Grow
What if you had the time to practice medicine the way you always thought you would?
Time to listen.
Time to look beyond a single symptom or lab value.
Time to ask why — and keep asking until the pieces begin to make sense.
If you're a clinician who still deeply loves taking care of patients but wishes you had more time to actually care for them, we'd love to meet you.
Lumaire is looking for an exceptional Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, MD or DO to join our growing Hormone Health & Longevity practice.
This is not a high-volume model.
We're building our clinical model around giving providers the time, data and structure to understand the person in front of them — to listen to the story behind the symptoms, identify patterns, educate, follow patients over time and adjust care thoughtfully.
We believe medicine can be both deeply evidence-based and deeply personal.
About Lumaire
Lumaire is an independent aesthetic medicine and longevity practice based in Portland, Maine.
Our roots are in nearly two decades of aesthetic medicine. Today, Lumaire brings that experience together with hormone health, metabolic medicine and longevity to care for patients more comprehensively.
We believe how someone looks, how they feel and how they function are interconnected — and that thoughtful medicine begins with understanding the whole person rather than treating an isolated symptom or laboratory value.
The Role
As a Hormone Health & Longevity Clinician at Lumaire, you will evaluate, treat and longitudinally manage adult patients in areas including:
- Women's hormone health, perimenopause, menopause and BHRT
- Men's hormone health and testosterone replacement therapy
- Metabolic health and medical weight management
- GLP-1 therapy
- Comprehensive laboratory evaluation and interpretation
- Medication management, monitoring and dose adjustment
- Evidence-informed longevity medicine
- Patient education and shared decision-making
- Ongoing clinical follow-up and care planning
You'll practice within Lumaire's established clinical framework and protocols while using your clinical judgment to individualize care for the person in front of you.
This is not episodic care. We want our clinicians to know their patients, understand their progress and remain engaged in what happens after the prescription is written.
Who We're Looking For
Experience matters. But we're also looking for something that's harder to capture on a résumé:
Clinical curiosity.
Someone who asks why. Someone who looks for patterns rather than treating a laboratory value in isolation. Someone who genuinely enjoys educating patients and helping them understand what is happening in their bodies. Someone who wants to know what happened after the prescription was written. Someone who understands the importance of distinguishing emerging science from established clinical evidence.
And someone who believes exceptional care comes from combining good science, careful listening and sound clinical judgment.
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Associate (PA), Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Active Maine license or willingness and eligibility to obtain appropriate Maine licensure before beginning patient care
- Appropriate prescribing authority and credentials for the scope of the position
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent patient communication and education skills
- Comfort providing care via telehealth
- Strong clinical documentation and follow-through
- Commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centered medicine
- Ability to practice independently within your scope while collaborating effectively with the Lumaire clinical team
Experience We're Especially Interested In
We're particularly interested in clinicians with experience in one or more of the following:
- Women's hormone health
- Perimenopause and menopause management
- BHRT
- Men's hormone health and TRT
- Medical weight management and metabolic medicine
- GLP-1 therapy
- Comprehensive laboratory interpretation
- Longevity medicine
- Functional or integrative medicine
You do not need to check every box.
We're more interested in finding an exceptional clinician with the right foundation, clinical judgment and philosophy of care than someone whose résumé happens to contain every keyword.
Aesthetic medicine experience would be a significant plus.
Lumaire intentionally brings aesthetic medicine and longevity medicine together. A clinician who already has experience with injectables, aesthetic medicine, regenerative aesthetics or other aesthetic treatments — or who has a genuine interest in this area — could be an especially strong fit for where we're going.
Schedule & Work Arrangement
This is a part-time position, anticipated to begin at approximately 8–12 hours per week, with the opportunity to expand as the practice grows.
The position can be primarily remote via telehealth.
You do not need to live in Maine. However, you must hold an active Maine license or be willing and eligible to obtain appropriate Maine licensure before providing care to Lumaire patients.
For clinicians located in or near Portland, Maine, there may also be opportunities to provide in-person care.
We have flexibility in how clinical hours are structured and are more interested in finding the right clinician than forcing the right clinician into a predetermined schedule.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with licensure, credentials, relevant clinical experience and scope of responsibility.
NP/PA: $80–$100/hour, based on experience.
MD/DO: Competitive physician compensation based on experience, specialty, clinical responsibilities and scope of the role.
For an exceptional candidate, we are open to discussing a compensation and role structure that reflects what they would bring to Lumaire.
Compensated clinical responsibilities may include scheduled patient care, associated chart and laboratory review, prescribing and medication management, necessary patient follow-up, documentation, care coordination and designated clinical/program meetings.
Why Lumaire?
For the right clinician, this is more than a part-time telehealth position.
It's an opportunity to become an important part of a growing clinical program and have a meaningful voice in how that program develops.
We're looking for someone who wants the time to think.
The time to listen.
The time to explain.
The time to follow the patient over time and see whether the plan is actually working.
And the opportunity to practice within an independent environment that values clinical rigor, curiosity, relationships and thoughtful medicine.
If you've been wishing there were a place where you could slow down, think, listen and practice medicine thoughtfully, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.
To Apply
Please submit your résumé or CV along with a brief introduction telling us about your experience with hormone health, metabolic medicine and/or longevity care — and what interests you about practicing at Lumaire.
