Hudson Valley Lighting Group is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing, and omnichannel distribution of decorative lighting fixtures, encompassing seven brands: Hudson Valley Lighting, Mitzi, Troy, Corbett, CSL, Sonneman, and Schoolhouse (on behalf of Hudson Valley Lighting, Inc., Troy-CSL, Inc. and SN Modern, LLC).
We are seeking a highly creative, organized, and solutions-oriented Senior Photographer & Producer to join our Marketing & Creative Services team. Reporting to the Senior Art Director and partnering closely with the Creative Services Manager, this role will produce premium photo content while driving production workflows across campaigns, launches, catalogs, and brand marketing initiatives.
This hybrid role blends hands-on photography expertise with high-level production and project management responsibilities. The Senior Photographer & Producer will photograph HVLG product, oversee studio productions, manage external creative partners and overseas photographers & retouchers, support campaign planning, and help optimize photography workflows across digital and print.
This position follows a hybrid schedule and requires onsite presence at our Wappingers Falls, NY office and studio for a minimum of 3 days per week.
Primary Responsibilities
Photography & Visual Content Creation
- Photograph product, finish swatches (metal, glass, natural materials), branded detail imagery, lifestyle setups, company headshots, and social media content for use across web, email, printed materials, advertising, and marketing campaigns.
- Edit, retouch, and color-correct imagery to a high professional standard, ensuring consistency in style and quality across all assets.
- Collaborate with the Senior Art Director and marketing team to plan and prep art direction and styling for product launches, guest designer shoots, seasonal campaigns, and branded content initiatives.
- Maintain a strong visual understanding of luxury product photography, composition, lighting, styling, and brand storytelling.
- Prepare and deliver production-ready photo assets for digital and print applications, ensuring accuracy across color, formatting, and brand standards.
- Collaborate with freelance and in-house videographers and content creators to ensure alignment between photo and video assets.
Production & Project Management
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of photography production from concept through final delivery.
- Develop and manage production schedules, shot lists, timelines, and asset delivery calendars to support product launches and marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and external partners, including photographers, stylists, retouchers, videographers, freelancers, and production vendors.
- Work closely with Product Development, factory teams, and overseas creative partners to establish detailed shot lists, photography guidelines, and production priorities for overseas photographers and retouchers.
- Support production budgeting, vendor coordination, and resource planning to ensure efficient execution of photography initiatives.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule while proactively identifying and resolving production challenges.
- Support campaign execution across digital, social, print, e-commerce, and trade marketing channels.
Team Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Advise and supervise overseas photographers and retouchers (China, Philippines, India), ensuring adherence to HVLG photography standards, quality expectations, and production timelines.
- Control image quality, evaluating aesthetics, technical specs, and adherence to HVLG brand guidelines.
- Manage external freelance photographers, videographers, stylists, and production partners as needed.
- Review and approve photo assets to ensure brand consistency and technical excellence.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, creative services, product design & development, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless production execution and timely sample coordination.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to travel to and photograph local interiors that include HVLG product as needed.
Studio & Workflow Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations of the photo studio, including equipment maintenance, studio organization, set inventory, and designer props.
- Oversee pre-production and post-production workflows, including file management, image processing, retouching coordination, and final asset delivery.
- Identify opportunities to streamline photography operations and improve production efficiency across teams and vendors.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve photo production workflows, image management, editing efficiencies, and overall creative operations best practices.
- Maintain organized asset management systems and ensure all content is properly cataloged across internal servers and digital asset management platforms.
- Identify workflow challenges and proactively improve processes to increase efficiency and collaboration across teams.
- Maintain and manage studio equipment inventory, ensuring all photography equipment is organized, operational, and documented.
Brand & Creative Collaboration
- Partner with the Creative Services and Marketing teams to help evolve and maintain HVLG’s visual identity across all brands and channels.
- Participate in creative reviews, campaign planning, catalog development, and seasonal launch discussions.
- Ensure photo assets align with brand standards, marketing objectives, and overall creative direction.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Fine Arts, Visual Communications, Marketing, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8-10+ years of experience in professional photography, photography production, or content production within a fast-paced brand, studio, or agency environment.
- Commute to our Wappingers Falls, NY office 3 times per week, or more depending on photography needs.
- Strong portfolio showcasing product, lifestyle, and/or luxury brand photography.
- Advanced knowledge of photography equipment, studio lighting, editing workflows, and retouching processes.
- Experience managing photography production, timelines, vendors, and multiple concurrent projects.
- Understanding of AI tools and best practices related to photography workflows, image editing, asset management, and production efficiencies.
- Strong understanding of commercial printing, pre-press workflows, color management, and print production best practices, including preparing accurate print-ready files for catalogs, advertising, and large-format marketing materials.
- Experience working with freelancers, external vendors, overseas production teams, and factory partners preferred.
- Familiarity with project management and digital asset management platforms, such as Asana and Brand Folder, is a plus.
- Availability to travel 2–3 times per year for print production reviews, press checks, photography productions, and other creative initiatives.
