The Email Marketing Manager at Hudson Valley Lighting Group is a creative and analytical marketer responsible for strategizing, developing, and executing customer-facing email and SMS programs across the HVLG brand portfolio. This role will own campaign planning and execution, automated customer journeys, segmentation, testing, and performance optimization as part of the company’s broader digital marketing strategy. The ideal candidate brings significant hands-on experience with HubSpot, expertise in Klaviyo or comparable email platforms, and the ability to translate customer insights and business goals into compelling programs that drive engagement, nurture leads, strengthen retention, and increase conversions. This role partners closely with marketing, creative services, and business development, and focuses on external marketing communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the marketing and business development teams to develop and execute customer-facing email and SMS strategies for all HVLG brands.
- Create and manage the customer-facing email and SMS marketing calendar to support product launches, promotions, events, lead generation, and retention initiatives.
- Oversee and execute all customer-facing email and SMS marketing campaigns and program updates.
- Write engaging and educational copy for emails and subject lines.
- Partner with the creative services team to develop visually compelling, elevated emails, using Figma to review designs and support an efficient creative workflow.
- Strategize and implement new ways to increase open rates and engagement.
- Personalize the customer journey and maximize each touchpoint across the customer lifecycle.
- Build, manage, and optimize automated email and SMS journeys for all divisions of the business.
- Define and implement audience segmentation and personalization strategies in HubSpot and Klaviyo.
- Serve as a hands-on HubSpot Marketing Hub user for the marketing team, including campaign setup, audience segmentation, workflows, forms, lead-nurture programs, QA, deployment, and reporting.
- Partner with CRM and business development teams to support list health, data quality, consent management, and accurate segmentation while keeping marketing programs aligned with established data-governance processes.
- Develop and implement a rigorous testing process, including A/B testing.
- Monitor and develop new initiatives to increase list growth and customer retention.
- Track email and SMS goals and performance metrics, translate results into actionable insights, and report on performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Monitor and forecast digital trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Troubleshoot campaign, deliverability, workflow, tracking, and platform issues.
- Support the strategy and execution of effective landing pages and forms to improve conversion rates and lead generation.
- Oversee freelancers and third-party vendors as needed.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on email marketing experience.
- Significant hands-on experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub and HubSpot CRM is required, including workflows, lists, segmentation, forms, campaigns, and reporting.
- Experience with Klaviyo and Attentive, or comparable email and SMS marketing platforms.
- Experience with Asana or other project management platforms.
- Experience developing, building, testing, and tracking automated email and SMS journeys.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to balance long- and short-term deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work under a deadline.
- Proficiency with Figma; working knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign is a plus.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.
- Ability to take direction, exercise sound judgment, and follow projects through to completion.
- Ability to reliably commute to Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
