Full Job Description

Litigation Paralegal – Plaintiff’s Personal Injury

A well-established plaintiff's personal injury law firm in the Hudson Valley is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its team.

This is a full-time, in-person position and is not a remote opportunity.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing competing priorities across a busy litigation caseload. The firm has dedicated intake and calendaring support, allowing litigation paralegals to focus on substantive litigation work and the efficient progression of their assigned cases.

Responsibilities include:

Drafting pleadings, bills of particulars, discovery demands and responses, subpoenas, motions, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents;
Assisting attorneys with motion practice, discovery compliance, and trial preparation;
Preparing and electronically filing documents through NYSCEF and CM/ECF;
Maintaining accurate and organized electronic case files in SmartAdvocate;
Monitoring file-specific deadlines, outstanding discovery, follow-ups, and attorney assignments;
Proactively advancing cases and identifying issues requiring attorney review or direction;
Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, experts, medical providers, and other parties involved in the litigation process.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of litigation experience required;
Personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred;
Experience drafting pleadings and discovery documents and filing through NYSCEF;
Strong organizational, prioritization, and case-management skills;
Ability to manage multiple active files efficiently and independently;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Professional demeanor and a positive, team-oriented attitude;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
Experience with SmartAdvocate, Eve Legal, or comparable case-management or legal technology is preferred;
Experience with estate administration, wrongful death matters, and infant compromise proceedings is a significant plus;
College degree preferred.

Compensation:

$70,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
