Full Job Description

Educational Options Foundation

Position: High School Student Mentor for EdOptions High School Learning Center

Location: Cottonwood, Arizona

Educational Options Foundation is a nonprofit organization which operates EdOptions High School Learning Center, an Online Public High School. We are open year round and are here to help students to graduate. As a Student Mentor, you will be managing a Learning Center with day to day tasks.

A Learning Center is a safe, productive place for students to work on their courses. Daily tasks include communicating with parents, helping students, collecting paperwork such as enrollment packets, time sheets and any other required paperwork, and entering that information into various programs as directed.

You will be working closely with students to help them complete classes and receive credits as they work toward their goal of high school graduation!

Qualifications & Competencies:

High School Diploma (Required)
Maintains open lines of communication with parents/guardians/support staff/teachers about academic and discipline issues through various mediums including phone calls, notes, progress reports, etc. (Required)
Meets regular and predictable attendance requirements. (Required)
Strong written and spoken communication skills. (Required)
Proficiency with technology, e.g., computers (students work on computers for all coursework), cell phones, Gmail, Word, and Excel. (Required)
Prior experience working with High School students. (Preferred but not required)
Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card (Required at time of hire)

Experience:

· Relevant: 1 year (Preferred).

Education:

· High school or equivalent (Required).

Work Location:

· One location

Job Types: Full Time (30 hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Salary: $15.50-16.50 per hour
