Purchase Order Specialist

Job Description

The Order Entry and Import Specialist assists with daily overseas shipments and correspondence with related factory partners and ocean carriers. This individual reports to our Replenishment Manager and should have experience in both air and ocean LCL, FCL, Customs and billings. The ideal candidate should be very detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Specific Responsibilities

Assist Replenishment Manager to coordinate and successfully manage import and export shipment daily operations with vendors, customers and carriers
Execute timely and accurate order entry in company ERP system and set shipment timelines and expectations to overseas vendors
Review forwarder cargo receipt, seaway bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, Letters of Credit and prepare ISF, Certificates of Origin and insurance certificates accordingly
Manage shipping schedule to ensure on-time delivery to customers
Monitor and coordinate progress of each shipment daily to ensure that appropriate and timely communication is provided to the customer, Operations Manager and carrier regarding discrepancies, changes or any issues that directly affect the shipment or operations of our Company
Resolve billing discrepancies quickly and efficiently
Oversee new item generation in company ERP system

Requirements

BA/BS or equivalent degree
3-5 years experience, preferably with a freight forwarder, Customs house or US wholesale importer
Capacity to handle multiple orders and tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
Very organized, self-motivated and self-directed
The ability to identify and resolve order-related issues or discrepancies.
Experience with AS 400 ERP systems a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs
