Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Male Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. In this vital role, you will serve as a compassionate advocate, sharing your personal recovery journey to inspire hope and foster resilience. Your energetic approach will empower clients through peer support, crisis management, and behavioral health guidance, helping them achieve their recovery goals. Duties

Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders
Share personal recovery experiences to motivate clients and promote hope
Assist clients in developing coping skills through motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies
Respond effectively to crisis situations with crisis intervention techniques, ensuring safety for clients and staff
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using electronic health record (EHR) systems to document progress and coordinate care plans
Support clients in navigating behavioral health services, including addiction counseling and social work resources
Advocate for client needs within diverse communities, respecting cultural differences and promoting inclusive practices

Experience

Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery, with the ability to share insights authentically
Prior experience working with individuals with behavioral health challenges, including those with co-occurring disorders or from culturally diverse backgrounds
Knowledge of crisis management, crisis intervention, and harm reduction principles
Familiarity with mental health counseling techniques and motivational interviewing methods
Experience working within social work frameworks or peer support advocacy roles
Ability to maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive client information in compliance with privacy regulations
Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and communication purposes
