Full Job Description

Local Pryor Company seeking experienced CNC Machinist capable running both Lathe and Mill machines. Experience in machine setup and operation, and who are proficient in reading blueprints and calipers. Monday-Friday 6-2:30 ish Overtime when needed.

CNC Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; Review set up sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence and dimensions.

Write programs in the language of a machine's controller and store programs on media such as punch tapes, magnetic tapes, or disks.

Determine the sequence of machine operations, and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces into the desired shapes.

Revise programs or tapes to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been solved.

Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, printed circuit board pattern films, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.

Write instruction sheets and cutter lists for a machine's controller to guide setup and encode numerical control tapes.

Observe machines on trial runs or conduct computer simulations to ensure that programs and machinery will function properly and produce items that meet specifications

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Minimum of 3 years of CNC experience is preferred

Ability to independently setup and operate CNC Machines.

Ability to perform quality checks using precision measuring tools.

Ability to read and understand basic part programs.

Must be able to read and interpret blue prints

Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Computer literate; Ability to use computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, work-processing, e-mail, and database software.

Skill in the operation of machine tools and the use of precision measuring devices.

Ability to perform mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions and decimals).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
