Overview
Responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing goods and services required for the company operations. Ensure cost efficiency, quality, standards, and timely delivery while maintaining strong supplier relationships and compliance with company policies.
I. Essential Duties:
a. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability
b. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors
c. Create and process purchase orders (PO’s) and track order status
d. Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply issues
e. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation
f. Analyze market trends and identify cost-savings opportunities
g. Collaborate with internal departments to understand their needs
h. Ensure compliance with procurement policies and applicable regulations
i. Evaluate suppliers’ performance and manage vendor relationships
j. Any other duties requested by the manager, supervisor, director
II. Education/Qualification:
a. Bachelor’s degree in business Administration, Supply Chain or related field (preferred)
b. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
c. Strong negotiation and communication skills
d. Proficient in ERP Systems and Microsoft Excell
e. Analytical mindset with attention to details
f. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
g. Manage cost control and budgeting
III. Language Skills:
a) English and Spanish May be required: to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents, to respond to common inquiries or complaints from vendors, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. To effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
IV. Mathematical Skills: May be required: to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
V. Reasoning Ability: May be required: to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
VI. Environment/Noise: Noise level is moderate.
VII. Physical Demands: Frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, talks and hears. Regularly stands and sits. Occasionally walks, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, knees, crouches, or crawls, tastes or smells. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
VIII. Certificates/Licenses:
- Preferred Certifications from the Purchasing & Procurement Center’s CIPP/CIPM, and or the American Purchasing Society’s CPP.
IX. Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
- Ability to read and speak English and Spanish may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English and Spanish speaking customers or co-workers,the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Sourcing/Procurement computerized system
- Knowledge/Familiar with ERP System
- Able to work long hours
