Job Summary
Join our legal team as a Legal Assistant and become an essential contributor to our law firm. Our law firm currently focuses in estate and probate law as well as real estate law with the possibility of adding more areas in the future. We offer a relaxed office setting as we are a small law firm that has been servicing North Port for 50+ years.

Duties

Assist attorneys with legal research to gather pertinent case law, statutes, and regulations.
Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, deeds, pleadings, affidavits, and discovery materials with precision and attention to detail.
Manage case files while ensuring all records are current and accurately organized.
Conduct thorough document review and proofreading to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal standards.
Support litigation processes by coordinating depositions, court filings, and scheduling meetings or hearings.
Perform data entry and maintain meticulous records of case activities, deadlines, and correspondence.
Provide executive administrative support by managing attorney calendars, organizing meetings, handling phone etiquette professionally, and facilitating communication between team members.

Skills

Superior phone etiquette coupled with excellent clerical experience including filing, data entry, and administrative support.
Skilled in proofreading and transcription to ensure error-free documentation.
Experience in legal administrative roles with familiarity in law office procedures.
Knowledge of various practice areas including estate planning, probate, and real estate law.
Strong project management skills to handle multiple cases efficiently while meeting deadlines.
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence with clarity and professionalism.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Willingness and motivated to learn.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
