Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are hiring a Site Manager to partner closely with both our leadership team and our hourly staff at our reuse wash facility at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. You will oversee the day-to-day production of a manufacturing (industrial dishwashing) operation, including inventory management, stock control, and logistics workflows for the thousands of reusable containers being washed on-site daily. Currently 2 shifts of hourly operations associates and drivers are on staff Monday through Friday, with 3 lead supervisors. This site is expected to move to 24 x 7 operations within a few years.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring throughput goals are met efficiently and on time. Help drive unit costs down by increasing efficiencies and scaling the operation.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team including Operations Associates and Box Truck Drivers.
Analytics & Reporting: Prepare, analyze and present facility performance and opportunities to senior management. Establish routine reporting and monitoring of department KPIs.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure products meet standards consistently.
Headcount & Budget Management: Develop and manage the facility's headcount and budget, including cost control measures, efficiency improvements and worker incentives.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring supplies are available for processing and finished products are correctly stored and shipped on-time.
Facility Maintenance: Ensure the facility is always pristine: organized, functional and comfortable so the team can be productive.
Process Improvement: Work with senior leadership to test and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Safety: Ensure that all safety regulations and guidelines are followed, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Compliance: Ensure the facility and trucks comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in production management, warehouse supervision or operations management within a distribution or logistics environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including inventory management, procurement, demand planning, and distribution management.
Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS), and related software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability in process management, process improvement initiatives like Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement projects.
Knowledge of freight shipping & receiving procedures, materials handling equipment operation, and transportation planning strategies.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
Strong managerial communication skills for effective coordination with cross-functional teams including procurement, production planning, and logistics partners.
Ability to analyze supply chain data for insights into inventory control, demand forecasting, and distribution efficiency.
8+ years of relevant experience leading teams of 20+ staff in Operations, Warehouse, Manufacturing or Retail environment
4+ years of managing teams of 7+ hourly employees
Experience driving a Box Truck and managing Drivers and routes
