Supervisor – New Construction & Residential Roofing

Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week
The Role
The New Construction Supervisor will oversee day-to-day field activity for our Residential New Construction roofing projects. This person will be responsible for maintaining quality, communicating with builders, monitoring job progress, identifying potential issues, and helping ensure we have the manpower and materials needed to keep projects moving.
The right candidate will be a knowledgeable roofing professional and confident supervisor who can work independently in the field while staying closely connected with our operations team.

As we continue to grow our New Construction and Residential operations, we're looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our team.
This is a hands-on field leadership position for an experienced roofing professional who knows what good roofing looks like, isn't afraid to get on a roof, and can effectively coordinate between builders, crews, and our office team.
Key Responsibilities
Field Supervision & Quality Control
- Supervise and support roofing crews working on New Construction and Residential projects.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits and quality-control inspections.
- Visit job sites prior to installation to check for any potential issues (i.e. framing issues) that would prevent us from completing the job properly
- Access roofs to inspect workmanship, identify installation issues, troubleshoot leaks, and determine appropriate solutions.
- Ensure roofing work meets Locklear Roofing's quality standards and project specifications.
- Identify potential problems early and take action to prevent delays, rework, and callbacks.
- Monitor jobsite safety, housekeeping, materials, and overall crew performance.
- Conduct final inspections and verify jobs are ready for completion.
Builder & Project Communication
- Serve as a primary field contact for builders, superintendents, and other construction partners.
- Communicate professionally regarding job progress, scheduling, delays, quality concerns, and completed work.
- Maintain strong relationships with builders and construction partners.
- Respond promptly to field issues and coordinate with the office to resolve problems.
- Communicate changes in project schedules and priorities to the appropriate Locklear Roofing team members.
Production Forecasting & Scheduling
- Monitor upcoming New Construction and Residential projects.
- Forecast the number of homes/projects expected to be ready for roofing installation.
- Forecast expected project completions and communicate production needs to the operations team.
- Help ensure crews, materials, ladders, equipment, and other resources are available when needed.
- Track job progress and identify potential scheduling conflicts or production bottlenecks.
- Work directly with Josh and the operations team to keep production moving efficiently.
Materials & Field Support
- Coordinate and verify material deliveries.
- Assist with material pickups when necessary.
- Load, unload, and transport roofing-related materials and equipment as needed.
- Ensure crews have the materials and equipment necessary to complete their work.
- Help maintain company ladders, equipment, vehicles, and other field resources.
Technology & Documentation
- Use company software, email, mobile applications, and other technology to document job progress and communicate with the office.
- Take and upload jobsite photographs, inspection notes, and other required documentation.
- Maintain accurate project information and status updates.
- Learn and effectively use Locklear Roofing's technology and operating systems.
Required Qualifications
- Roofing experience
- Previous supervisory or crew leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of residential roofing and/or new construction roofing.
- Ability and willingness to get on roofs and perform inspections.
- Ability to identify roofing installation issues and troubleshoot leaks or other problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with builders, superintendents, roofing crews, customers, and office staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at different stages.
- Ability to forecast upcoming installations and completions and communicate production needs.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record – required.
- Basic computer and technology skills with the ability to learn new software and mobile applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and good judgment.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the operations team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience working directly with residential builders, general contractors, or construction superintendents.
- New construction roofing experience.
- Experience with roofing inspections, quality control, warranty work, or service.
- Familiarity with construction management or roofing software.
- OSHA or other construction safety training.
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on field position. Candidates must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job, including:
- Safely climbing and descending ladders.
- Accessing and walking on residential and new construction roofs.
- Lifting and carrying approximately 50 pounds.
- Carrying and positioning ladders.
- Loading and unloading roofing materials and equipment.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Bending, kneeling, climbing, and moving around active construction sites.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
