Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic manufacturing team across multiple shifts. We are hiring for 1st shift (Monday - Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm), 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm - 2:30am) , and Weekend shift (Friday - Sunday, 5:00am - 5:30pm). This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse fabrication projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical fitting skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, quality, and precision. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal components and assemblies that meet rigorous industry standards.

Duties

Interpret and analyze mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal parts.
Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
Assist Journeyman Welders with fitting and assemblies.
Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, assembling, and welding parts with precision using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math calculations.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols while operating equipment such as forklifts, power tools, and rigging gear; maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality control throughout the fabrication process.
Perform other duties as needed.

Skills

Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a welder.
Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately.
Skilled in measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication tasks.
Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; familiarity with fabrication shop equipment like machining centers is a plus.
Ability to read technical schematics accurately while interpreting complex technical drawings for manufacturing or construction purposes.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in fabrication tasks; experience with shop math is preferred.
