Now Hiring: Human Resources Coordinator/Staff Accountant

Embassy Suites by Hilton – La Quinta Hotel & Spa

At Embassy Suites La Quinta Hotel & Spa, hospitality starts with our people. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Coordinator/Staff Accountant who has a genuine passion for supporting hotel associates while ensuring financial excellence. This is a key leadership role for someone who understands hotel operations and enjoys being a trusted partner to both team members and management.

What You’ll Do

Human Resources & People Leadership

Lead all human resources functions for the hotel, including recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, and separations
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive work environment that reflects Hilton’s hospitality culture
Serve as a trusted resource for associates and leaders on HR policies, coaching, and conflict resolution
Ensure compliance with California labor laws, Hilton brand standards, and franchise policies
Administer benefits, leaves of absence (including CFRA/FMLA), workers’ compensation, and payroll coordination
Maintain accurate personnel files, HR systems, and training records

Accounting & Financial Operations

Oversee daily hotel accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and Income audit
Prepare journal entries, month-end close, and financial reports in accordance with hotel and ownership requirements
Ensure compliance with internal controls, cash handling procedures, inventory control and audit standards
Partner with the General Manager on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Coordinate with ownership, corporate partners, and external auditors as needed

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or GED
Previous hotel experience is required (must)
3–5 years of combined Human Resources and Accounting experience, preferably in a hotel environment
Knowledge of Hilton systems (OnQ, payroll, HR platforms) strongly preferred
Strong understanding of California employment laws, payroll practices, and hotel accounting procedures
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP; ability to perform data entry accurately.
