Event Sales Manager

Why You'll Love This Role

As an Event Sales Manager, you'll play a key role in helping guests celebrate life's most important moments. You'll work directly with clients to plan and contract events, collaborate with our operations team to ensure flawless execution, and help grow one of Kansas City's most respected catering brands.

No two days are the same. One day you may be helping a bride plan her dream wedding, the next coordinating a corporate event for hundreds of guests.

What You'll DoCreate Exceptional Guest Experiences

Build strong relationships with clients from initial inquiry through event completion
Respond promptly to guest inquiries and provide outstanding service throughout the planning process
Guide clients through menu selections, event logistics, and service options
Ensure guest satisfaction and create remarkable experiences at every touchpoint

Drive Event Sales & Contracting

Contract events accurately and efficiently using Caterease and Caterzen
Ensure all food, beverage, equipment, linen, rentals, and event details are properly documented and charged
Manage deposits, payments, and event documentation
Maintain accuracy in pricing, contracts, and event details

Execute Events Successfully

Partner with operations teams to ensure seamless event execution
Lead and direct service teams during full-service events as needed
Create and communicate accurate prep sheets, pull sheets, event instructions, and logistical details
Foster strong relationships with event venues and community partners

Be a Team Player

Collaborate with Catering, Operations, Culinary, and Leadership teams
Support business growth through exceptional service and relationship building
Contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture

What We're Looking For

2+ years of catering sales, hospitality sales, event planning, or related experience preferred
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously
Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to think quickly, solve problems, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Basic accounting, computer, and mathematical skills
ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain)
Valid driver's license with no DUI/DWI convictions

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk throughout events and work shifts
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Ability to bend, reach, and move event materials as needed
