Full Job Description

Job Summary

Hillsdale County Senior Services Center is seeking a part- time dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker to provide care for individuals in the community we serve. The ideal candidate will possess a background in assisted living, long-term care, or home care with a focus on enhancing client's quality of life. As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a respectful and supportive environment for those under your care.

Duties

May assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability.
Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-specific activities and supervision.
May assist with preparation of meals, home making, transportation, interactive activities and socialization in a group or one on one.
Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with leadership.
Follow safety procedures including first aid, CPR certification, and ensure client safety at all times.

Experience

Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential homes is highly desirable.
Demonstrated expertise in caring for individuals with cognitive disabilities such as dementia or developmental disabilities.
Experience with vital signs monitoring and basic health assessments.
Familiarity with home & community care practices including personal care home settings and group homes.
Experience operating standard passenger cars for transportation purposes within a caregiving context is preferred.
