Full Job Description

An established, midsize, civil litigation law firm is actively seeking a legal secretary for a fully remote position with a 5 years’ experience in the area of insurance defense law.

Please read this ad all the way through to see if you are a good fit. Your resume will not be reviewed if you do not complete the skills assessment and do not meet the minimum qualifications.

Qualifications

· Working knowledge of civil procedure and local court rules

· Experience working on insurance defense matters in pre-litigation and active litigation

· Excellent written/verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills and excellent time management skills are required

· Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and can independently prioritize legal tasks based on deadlines and importance

· Proficient in Office 365

· Experience with AbacusLaw is a plus

· Manage multiple attorneys’ calendars

· Calendar & track all case deadlines & reminders

· Proofread, finalize and serve legal papers, correspondence, and reports

· Set up templates

· Communicate with vendors

· Coordinate meetings

· Set up depositions, mediations, arbitrations, court appearances

· Assist with trial preparations, assemble trial binders and presentation materials

· Order Medical Records

· Open & Close case files

Although this is a remote position, the ideal candidate must reside in Southern California as you would be expected to come into the office to assist with Trial preparations, as needed. This position starts at $27.00 per hour but is negotiable based upon your experience and qualifications.
