Full Job Description

Job Summary: 1:1 Client Support Aide - Pediatric

TheClient Support Aide functions under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing. This person helps to implement and supervise activity programs which meet the developmental and socialization needs and interests of the client. Along with this, this role will include behavior management, assistance with meals and toileting, and keeping the client engaged to hold structure in place. Open communication with parents and team will be a big part in success to provide consistency.

Reports To: Director of Nursing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one year of which was full-time in a client activities program in a health care setting (preferred), or assisting a certificated teacher, occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, or occupational therapy assistant.
Ability to communicate effectively and therapeutically with other staff, patients and families.
ABA experience preferred but not required.
Experience working with the special needs community.
Clear reference, criminal background check and fingerprint clearance.
A health examination within 90 days prior to employment or within 7 days of hire. The exam will include a medical history and physical evaluation.
Negative TB test.
Current BLS/First Aid certification.

Detailed Tasks:

Provide direct client 1:1 support as needed.
Help with meal preparation, activities of daily living, and assisting client with oral feedings as needed.
Guiding client with learning and maintaining life skills to keep the client reaching their highest potential.
Assisting client out in the community and encouraging socially appropriate behaviors.
Mature and accurate judgement with client behavior management using positive reinforcement, and helping to reinforce client goals.
Use of a daily schedule to assist client with the plan for the day.
Use of developmentally appropriate play to guide the client into meaningful connections and social relationships.
Assist enrichment support with activities planned out for the day.
Care and keeping of the facility per guidelines outlined during training (may include dishes, laundry, etc.) Helping the client participate in keeping the facility neat and tidy.
Create meaningful connections with Solaria families and encourage involvement in their child’s goals at home and at Solaria.
Maintain professional behavior with clients and co-workers, even during play.
Other non-medical duties delegated to you by the program director.

Compensation/Benefits:

Hourly - $18-22 per hour DOE.
Paid Training.
Paid Sick Leave - 40 hours per year.
Paid Time Off - increasing with seniority up to 5 weeks per year.
401k Matching up to 4%.
