Full Job Description

Reports To: Owner

Employment Type: Part-Time, Salaried, Hybrid (Remote + on-site at schools and program locations as needed)

Hours: 25–30 hours/week during the school year (Sept–June); hours and comp increase to cover a full work week during summer camp season

Start Date: Immediate

Compensation: $3,000/month during the school year (~$30,000 for the 10-month term); increases to $4,000/month during summer, plus up to $5,000 in performance-based bonus

About Us

Snapology of the Eastside brings hands-on STEAM enrichment - LEGO-based classes, robotics, coding, and camps - to schools and families across Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Sammamish, Woodinville, Bothell, and Renton. Founded in 2019, we've grown 15%+ year over year and now serve 75+ schools, with plenty of room to keep going.

The Role

We need someone in this seat immediately - our current operator is departing and our school partners, families, and instructors don't pause for a transition. This is a hands-on role: part relationship-builder (bringing new schools on board, being the trusted point of contact for the ones we already serve), part coordinator (scheduling instructors, keeping curriculum and supplies organized), and part instructor yourself.

You'll have part-time support staff to help assemble supplies and materials - your job is to direct that work and make sure it's right, not to build binders yourself. Where you can't delegate is the relationship and judgment work: schools, families, and instructors are all counting on one person to be reliably on top of things.

This is a STEM education role at its core - you'll be teaching real engineering and robotics content (LEGO-based builds, robotics, coding), not just overseeing people who do. We're looking for someone genuinely curious about how things work and excited to pass that on, not just someone comfortable managing a classroom. This is a purpose-driven role: the work is bringing hands-on STEM to kids who might not otherwise get it, and we want someone who feels that as the point of the job, not a nice side effect.

Summer looks different from the school year: hours and pay increase to cover a full work week for camp season, plus up to $5,000 in performance-based bonus.

Key Responsibilities

School & Family Relations

Conduct outreach to schools (private schools, preschools, and existing partners) to establish and grow enrichment program partnerships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for families - registration questions, program updates, and day-to-day communication.
Maintain a professional, responsive relationship with school activity coordinators and administrators.

Scheduling & Curriculum Coordination

Schedule instructors across all active programs and resolve conflicts as they come up.
Coordinate curriculum distribution so every instructor has the right materials for every class.
Direct part-time support staff on supply prep and assembly; check their work before it goes out the door.
Maintain accurate rosters and program logistics.

Teaching

Teach a portion of the class schedule directly - engineering, robotics, and LEGO-based coding programs - alongside coordination duties.
Step in to cover a class yourself when an instructor is out and no one else is available; this is a roll-up-your-sleeves role.

Hiring & Staff Support

Assist with job postings, interviews, and onboarding for new instructors.
Support instructor training and act as a first point of contact for staffing issues.

Standards & Expectations

This role is the connective tissue between schools, families, instructors, and supplies - small failures here show up immediately in a live classroom, not a spreadsheet. Specifically:

Timeliness: On time to classes, school visits, and meetings, without exception. Late arrivals affect kids' programs and school relationships directly.
Attention to detail: Schedules, curriculum assignments, and supply orders need to be right the first time. Errors here aren't abstract - they mean a wrong or missing supply in front of a classroom of kids.
Responsiveness: School and family inquiries acknowledged within one business day - you're the face of Snapology to the people we serve.
Reliability: Schools and families should never have to wonder who owns their program or chase someone down for an answer.
Discretion: Appropriate handling of student, family, and school contact information.

What We're Looking For

Prior experience: managing enrichment, after-school, or camp programs or relevant experience in schools (as staff, an administrator, or a coordinator) or Parks & Recreation programming.
Comfortable teaching STEM content directly: engineering, robotics, and hands-on building - not just facilitating; you don't need an engineering degree, but you need real curiosity about how things work and the patience to teach it.
Comfortable with families, kids, staff: building relationships with schools/families, leading a classroom in any of our topics, and doing detail-heavy coordination work - this role genuinely requires all three.
A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude: willing to sub in a classroom, help pack a supply kit, or do whatever the week actually needs, not just what's in the job description.
Curious, a genuine learner, and motivated by the purpose of the work: this is a role for someone who wants to be here because they care about STEM education for kids, not just because it's a job.
Strong organizational skills and follow-through: can direct part-time support staff and verify their work.
Comfortable learning new tools: Manager, Canva, SOCi, EMMA, 6Crickets, etc.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days: Onboarded on our tools and curriculum, teaching an assigned class load, and established as the go-to contact for current school partners.
First 90 days: Actively conducting school outreach for new partnerships, running instructor scheduling and curriculum coordination independently, and directing supply staff smoothly.

Compensation

$3,000/month during the school year (~$30,000 for the 10-month term, Sept–June)
$4,000/month during summer camp season
Up to $5,000 performance-based bonus tied to summer results

Growth Path

This role has real room to grow. As the business expands, there's the potential for this position to grow into a broader operating role - including, for the right long-term fit, a conversation about equity down the line.
