Full Job Description

Content Writer (Contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Copywriter to join a dynamic content and social marketing team focused on crafting compelling, brand-defining copy that brings advertising campaigns, products, and stories to life. In this fully remote role, you will partner closely with designers, strategists, and marketers to translate complex business ideas into creative, audience-first messaging across advertising, digital, and social experiences. A typical day includes concepting campaign ideas with creative partners, writing headlines, taglines, social copy, paid media copy, landing page copy, and video scripts — iterating based on feedback, aligning messaging to brand voice, and refining copy for clarity, persuasion, and lasting impact.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop original creative concepts and messaging strategies for integrated campaigns and brand stories that resonate with target audiences
Write compelling, creative copy and taglines for social media, landing pages, paid ads, and other digital experiences
Write authentic, natural-sounding video scripts and dialogue that account for tone of voice, genre, narrative, and storyboards
Translate complex business or technical ideas into clear, persuasive storytelling while maintaining brand voice, tone, and messaging frameworks
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, social, product, and other teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality creative
Apply audience insights, testing, performance data, and tools like AI to scale creative workflows and improve messaging effectiveness
Stay informed on cultural trends, emerging platforms, and evolving consumer behaviors
Manage and review work produced by external writers, ensuring quality and brand consistency across written and visual content assets
Produce and oversee a range of content formats including blogs, white papers, social media posts, landing pages, and emails

Requirements:

5–7+ years of copywriting and creative development experience at an advertising agency or in-house brand
5–7+ years of campaign copywriting across social, paid, and web/digital channels
5–7+ years of creative concepting, refining brand voice, and developing messaging frameworks
5–7+ years of video scriptwriting and narrative development
Demonstrated experience in advertising, B2B marketing, and/or technology sectors
Proven track record managing external writers and reviewing content for quality and brand alignment
A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, campaign execution, and versatility across digital, social, web, and video formats is required for consideration
Portfolio must be submitted as a separate file attachment alongside your application materials
Exceptional copywriting skills with the ability to write across multiple formats including ads, social, web, and video
Strong conceptual thinking and ability to develop campaign-level creative ideas from brief to execution
Proficiency in crafting and maintaining brand voice, tone, and messaging frameworks
Video scriptwriting and narrative development capabilities
Ability to translate technical or complex B2B concepts into clear, audience-friendly messaging
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams
Familiarity with performance data, audience insights, and AI-assisted creative tools to optimize content
Awareness of cultural trends, emerging digital platforms, and shifting consumer behaviors

Additional Details:

Location: Remote
Duration: 11 months
Pay Range*: $42 - $48 per hour
Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
Job Status: Non-Exempt
